Work Permit and Interview Document Preparation

It's been two months since application and I received a notice that the Immigration Department is ready to process a card for my work permit. They're saying I should be getting it in the mail within the next 30 days! That is better news than...I don't know...the invention of Facebook??? Since, I'm such an addicted "Crack-booker" now... I should be able to work finally!

Also, talking about the Permanent Resident interview, there are some things they want you to bring:
  1. your husband/wife, of course.
  2. the interview notice and a government issued ID
  3. a completed medical examination (I-693) in sealed envelope (unless already submitted)
  4. a completed Affidavit of Support (I-864) with all required evidence, including: Federal income Tax returns and W-2's; letters from each employer, verifying current income; evidence of sponsor's US Citizenship or lawful Permanent Resident status.
  5. all documentation establishing eligibility for Lawful Permanent resident status.
  6. every immigration-related documentation ever issued, including any Employment Authorization Document and any Authorization for Advance Parole.
  7. all travel documents used to enter the US, including Passports, Advance Parole documents, and I-94's.
  8. birth certificate
  9. the petitioner's birth certificate and evidence of US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status.
  10. if you have children, birth certificates for each child.
  11. if eligibility based on marriage, bring: a certified copy of your Marriage Document; the spouse's Birth Certificate or evidence of citizenship; all divorce decrees, if either one of the couple has ever been married before; Birth Certificates of all children of this marriage.
  12. supporting evidence of relationship, such as: copies of any documentation regarding joint assets or liabilities (tax returns, bank statements, insurance documents, property documents, rental agreements, utility bills, credit cards, contracts, photos etc.)
  13. original and copy of each supporting document submitted with the application.
  14. a certified English translation for each foreign language document.

I wish you good luck, as I wish for myself! I am excited about getting this thing done once and for all! I am nervous, but hopefully all will go well.

Hope this helps.
